Case Update: Representation on Behalf of the Union of India before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court

We are pleased to share that ABA Law Office recently represented the Union of India before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court in a writ petition filed by a packaging service provider. The petitioner sought extension and COVID-related reliefs under the New Innovative Ideas Scheme, 2018, claiming parity with benefits granted to caterers during the pandemic.

Our Founder and Principal, Ld. Advocate Ms. Anushkaa Arora, who also serves as a Senior Panel Counsel for the Union of India, appeared in this matter on behalf of the Union.

During the hearing, it was firmly submitted that the facts of the present case are materially distinct from those involving caterers and therefore do not fall within the same legal or factual framework warranting similar reliefs.

The Hon’ble Court, after hearing the submissions, issued notice in the matter. Importantly, no interim stay or status quo order was granted at this stage.

This case brings into focus the nuanced application of COVID-related relief measures and the importance of case-specific evaluation under government policy frameworks.
